"'You're not a commander, you're a bloody holovid director,' muttered Bothari."
―Bothari doesn't care to play-act[src]

A holofilm was a three-dimensional motion picture produced using computer and holographic technology. Sometimes the name was shortened to "holo".[1]

Associated technology

  • A vidcam was the tool used to create a holofilm. Instead of being short for "video camera", it was short for "holovid camera". A vidcam could be directed by a person[2], robotically controlled[3], or stationary[4][5].
  • A holovid was used to view a holofilm.[6][7]
  • A holovid cube was a data container that held a holofilm.
