Collins was a sergeant in the Oseran Free Mercenary Fleet. He was stationed on the Ariel while the Oserans were contracted to the planetary government of Aslund. Collins was loyal to Captain Bel Thorne over Admiral Oser, and thus guarded Thorne and Admiral Naismith when they visited the Aslund military station to negotiate with Oser. Collins was killed defending Naismith when General Stanis Metzov tried to assassinate him aboard the station. Naismith hid under the sergeant's corpse until Metzov was stunned.
