Amiri Arqua was the fourth even-child of Shiv and Udine Arqua, heads of House Cordonah on Jackson's Whole. He was not one for building up their House, however; he much preferred to study biology. Thus, the family arranged for him to study with the Durona Group on Escobar. By the time of the events of Captain Vorpatril's Alliance, he was doing graduate research with them. Tej was closest to him of the even-siblings, so the family's emergency plans for her and for Rish were that the two of them should try to meet up with him on Escobar.
